Darko Karlečik has established himself as a prominent Musician by performing in many prestigious Concert halls worldwide as a soloist, member of a chamber ensemble, or an orchestral musician. Darko holds many prizes, including an award from the Yamaha Music Europe Foundation (YMEF) as one of Europe’s most promising young percussionists in 2013. He gains recognition for his adeptness in mastering a wide array of percussion instruments across various music genres.
Besides demonstrating versatility in his performances, Karlečik also dedicates himself to regularly performing contemporary compositions, many of which were written for him, as well as promoting percussion instruments to the younger audience. Karlečik performed in many countries, including Serbia, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Romania, Slovenia, Hungary, Poland, Montenegro, Kuwait, Lebanon, and the United Arab Emirates.

Biography
Darko Karlečik started playing drumset at 13, quickly expanding his interest into the vast percussion world. He enrolled in a Music High School and later on in the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, where he studied in the class of Dr. Srđan Palačković (former Principal timpanist of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra) and a world-renowned Percussionist and Composer Nebojša Jovan Živković. After his Bachelor studies, he continued his pursuit of music knowledge in Živković’s class at the Musik und Kunst University of Vienna (Austria).
Karlečik’s collaborations include working with different ensembles, some of which are Percussion ensembles, duos with Saxophone, Flute, and solo singers, as well as contemporary Music ensembles.
He also performed with various orchestras from Serbia and abroad, including the “Max Steiner” orchestra from Vienna (Austria), the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra (VSO), the Serbian National Theater Orchestra from Novi Sad, the Belgrade Philharmonic (Serbia), Zagreb Philharmonic, Croatian National Theater Orchestra from Osijek (Croatia), and many more.
After finishing his studies in Vienna, Darko decided to go back to Serbia and work on promoting Marimba and other Percussion through education and regular performance. He currently holds the position of Senior Associate at the Academy of Arts (University of Novi Sad, Serbia) and a Professor at the Music School “Isidor Bajić” (Novi Sad, Serbia).
