In the Spring of 2023, the idea of a quartet consisting of two piano (Nataša Srdić-Jahn and Marina Rajinović) and two percussion (Darko Karlečik and Ivan Burka) players was born. Most of the quartets in this kind of setting play Bartok’s famous “Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion”, but this quartet distinctively decided to perform other, less-known but challenging and quality pieces. They found what they were looking for in the work of Fazil Say, Nebojša Jovan Živković, and Minas Borboudakis. The Project took almost four months of preparation as it required a very high level of performance and instruments that had to be carefully altered or made from scratch. The end result was seen in December as the ensemble performed in Novi Sad. All three pieces from the program were also Serbian Premieres. The Cultural Centre of Vojvodina funded this Project.
